Information on iPad Scheme
Dear Otley Prince Henry's Grammar School Specialist Language College,
This is concerning the upcoming iPad scheme which we have been told is going ahead. Please answer the following questions. I would be grateful if you could respond to each question as you are able, rather than delaying some answers to wait for others.
1. How many parents opted in to the scheme?
2. What was the average donation commitment?
3. How many people opted in with no donation?
4. How many people opted out?
5. How many people have not responded?
6. What is the unit cost of the iPad being supplied?
7. What are the management costs?
8. What apps are to be supplied under the scheme?
9. What are the costs to PHGS of the apps being supplied?
10. What is the cost of the insurance being supplied if any?
11. Who is supplying the insurance?
Yours faithfully,
Ben Liddicott
Dear Otley Prince Henry's Grammar School Specialist Language College,
I would be grateful if you would acknowledge my request of the 27th inst.
I would also like to remind you of the duty to respond promptly. The four week limit is a maximum, not a minimum, and deliberate foot-dragging is not permitted.
Since I am certain you have this information to hand I hope to receive a reply very soon.
Yours faithfully,

Dear Ms Sheriff,
I cannot accept your response as it is quite obvious that Section 22(1) is irrelevant. I cannot imagine why you might think otherwise and I don't intend to waste any time on that. If you are confused you should seek legal advice.
Nor does it matter that the figures are not finalised and may be subject to change. This problem, if such it is, will be adequately addressed by appending a remark to that effect.
Certainly if the figures are an adequate basis for a decision to proceed, then they are good enough to disclose. In any case, preliminary figures are legitimate subjects of FOI requests. If figures are not yet firm, and all you have is best estimates and quotations from prospective suppliers, then they will be acceptable answers.
The deadline remains as it was.
Yours sincerely,
Ben Liddicott
