Dear Folkestone & Hythe District Council,

Could you please furnish me with the following information;
a) the number of benefits paid to people residing on Park Holidays Marlie Caravan Park and New beach, and b) the various types of benefit.
Obviously not names or addresses.
In theory there should be nothing on your records as these are strictly holiday only sites

Yours faithfully,

Carole Keeble

Dear Carol,

RE: LS-008245-CA-FOI-Benefits paid to people residing on Park Holidays Marlie Caravan Park and New beach.

I am writing in respect of your request dated 9th November. In order to proceed with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. We require some additional information as we do not hold comprehensive benefits information for all the occupants of these caravan sites.

Please note that the Council will only hold information relating to benefits it administrates (primarily Housing Benefit). Additional information about Council benefits can be found on our website. Most other benefits are administered by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) – you will need to contact them directly for the full range of information you seek.

In section (a) of your request, you have asked to receive “the number of benefits paid to people residing on Park Holidays’; Marlie Caravan Park and New Beach.” We will need several points of clarification before we can proceed:

1) Please can you confirm the date range that your request relates to?

2) Please can you confirm which benefits your request relates to? As above, the Council will only hold data relating to a limited number of means-tested benefits (primarily Housing Benefit).

3) Should “the number of benefits paid” be interpreted as:

a. The total value of relevant benefits paid.
b. The number of claims for relevant benefits associated with the relevant addresses?

4. Given the explanation of how different benefits are administrated, do you still wish to proceed with element (b) of your request?

I look forward to hearing from you with your clarification. Once you have clarified your request, we will be able to begin to process your request. If we do not receive clarification within 20 working days your request will be considered to have lapsed and will be closed on our system

Kind regards

Caroline Archer
