Q1. What happens to commercial waste generated across the council?

Newport City Council provide an ‘in-house’ commercial waste collection
service. Commercial waste is stored in wheeled bin containers or sacks,
which are collected by Newport City Council Refuse Collection Vehicle
(RCV). Collected commercial waste is either deposited at a waste transfer
station for sorting to recover any recyclable contents, or is transferred
to an Energy Recovery Facility. Commercial waste is not sent to landfill
disposal.

Commercial Recycling collections are provided both by Newport City Council
and partner organisation Wastesavers Ltd.

Newport City Council provide a commercial collection for trade cardboard
and dry mixed recycling.

Wastesavers Ltd, provide commercial collections for source-separated
