Dear Ministry of Defence,

Please can you confirm the existence of a weapon delivery system called LAWDS (Lighter than Air Weapon Dissemination System).

It was first used in the Gulf War by British and American forces.

Dear Ministry of Defence,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Ministry of Defence's handling of my FOI request 'Information on a weapon system'.

The information I have requested regarding LAWDS is available because the British Military, US Military and the CIA all used it during the Gulf War. This system at the time was classified and was developed by a person in the USA called Steven Hall.

I therefore request that an internal review is fully completed, because I have proof that this LAWDS is very real indeed! You may wish to check jointly shared records between the MoD, Did and the CIA!

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/i...

Yours faithfully,

Mr D Lee

Dear Mr Lee,

We acknowledge receipt of your email of 22 January 2019 and can confirm
that an internal review will be conducted of your request for information
(reference above).

The Department's target for completing internal reviews is 20 working days
and we therefore aim to complete the review and respond to you by 19
February 2019. While we are working hard to achieve this, in the interests
of providing you with a more realistic indication of when you should
expect a response, we should advise that the majority are currently taking
between 20 and 40 working days to complete.

The review will involve a full, independent reconsideration of the
handling of the case as well as the final decision.

Yours sincerely,
