Mr McKay,
Although we are able to provide most recent gradings for Care Homes for
Children & Young People, there is not a sub-type for Support Services
(Care at Home) which defines whether or not the service provides for
children.
As such could you please clarify exactly what information you are looking
for?

Dear freedom of info,
Many thanks for your response. I am interested in services for young people, these may be for example through-care services or services that are registered as housing support services.
I require this information for research that I am undertaking in to the needs of young adults leaving care.
Yours sincerely,
Mr.E McKay
Mr McKay,
In response to your referenced request, please find attached list of Care
Homes for Children & Young People, Support Services (Care at Home) and
Housing Support Services on the Public List in Scotland as at 01 December
2010 (inc. grading information).
As mentioned previously, unfortunately there is not a sub-type that
indicates the age of service users for the latter two lists.
You can also get information about the performance of all registered
services by visiting the care service register on our website at
www.carecommission.com. Click on ‘I want to look for a care service’.
This includes details about how the service has been graded, the latest
inspection report, any complaints that have been upheld or partially
upheld and details of any enforcement action taken by the Care Commission.
You may also want to contact Care Information Scotland which is funded by
the Scottish Government and operationally managed by NHS 24. On their
website you will find information about:
· Care needs assessment - why do you need one?
· Care at home - services to assist you while living at home
· Supported housing - services and adaptations to support
independent living
· Care homes - places to live which offer full-time care. What are
the options for finding and paying for a care home?
· Support for carers - services and support to help unpaid carers
· Your rights - what rights do you have?
· Advice and support - organisations that can offer information and
assistance
Their website address is www.careinfoscotland.co.uk or if you would prefer
to talk to someone, please call their helpline on 08456 001 001 (calls
charged at local rate).
If you have any other questions or need more information please do not
hesitate to contact me on 01382 207351 or email [email address].

On 17th June 2011, Anderida Adolescent Care contacted us with a concern that one of the documents in this request was appearing in Google results for a phone number, making it possible to tie the phone number to the physical address of their home.
They claimed that this raised a child protection issue in that some people had the phone number of an individual at the home but should not have the address.
The address, and the possibility of deducing the address from the phone number or other information such as Anderida's name, was also available from a number of other public sources including the website of SCSWIS, the successor to the Scottish Care Commmission (http://www.scswis.com/index.php?option=c...).
We chose to hide the phone number as an interim measure to give Anderida time to have it removed from these other sources.
This has not happened, and we have also received no response from a direct query to SCSWIS on this matter. The full details of the home are still published on their website. We have therefore now replaced the information.

The WhatDoTheyKnow administrators have censored one of the phone numbers in the response, so it appears as "xxxxxxxxxxxx".
