information leaflets to patients undergoing angioplasty and Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for stable angina and numbers of procedures.

The request was successful.

Stephen Granier

Dear Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust,

I am carrying out a research study looking at how new evidence on the benefits of clinical intervention is incorporated in clinical practice.

I would be very grateful if you could provide the information outlined below. I do not require patient specific information or confidential data. This is an educational institution request for a scientific purpose and not for a commercial use. This request is in accordance with the right to information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I request the following information:

1. A copy of the patient information leaflet (PIL) currently given to patients undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and/or insertion of stent or a link to the leaflet online.

2. The numbers of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) carried out in adults (>=18 years of age) in the years April 2018 to March 2019; and April 2017 - March 2018 (or a similar reporting period); these should include: K49.X (Percutaneous transluminal balloon angioplasty); K75.X (Percutaneous transluminal balloon angioplasty and insertion of stent); please could you provide figures for each of these two codes.

3. The proportion of K49.X and K75.X that were emergency, waiting list, planned and other admission method for the same reporting periods above.

4. If available, the proportion of K49.X and K75.X that were carried out for stable angina excluding I21.X and I20.0 for the same reporting periods above.

Thank you for your help with this request and I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Stephen Granier

To assist the Trust process your request we require clarification.

Please can you confirm the codes for questions 2 and 3 as the codes stated
do not exist.

Do you mean anything starting with K49 and K75?  These will be multiple
codes rather than the two codes as detailed in the request?

We look forward to hearing from you.
