Information department - coding and activity information request

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust,

Please could you provide the following information:

Have you audited your coding in the last year?
If so, what percentage of the records required re-coding or coding re-validation?

How many e-referrals do you process - per month and year?

How many ERS bookings are made - per month and year?

How many appointment cancellations are processed - per month and year?

Do you have an automated process for updating General Practitioner information changes?
If not, how are the updates managed and what is the average delay in the updating process?

How many whole time equivalent team members process incorrectly delivered letters?

Yours faithfully,

Clive Townsend

Dear Mr Townsend

Request under Freedom of Information Act 2000

Aggregation of Requests - Request Ref: NGFOI 19/20: 508

Thank you for your requests for information received at Northampton
General Hospital NHS Trust (NGH) on Wednesday 18^th December.

Section 9 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 allows a public authority
to charge a fee for providing information in response to a request. Such a
fee must be determined in accordance with the Fees Regulations which cover
aggregation of requests. The Fees Regulations state that two or more
requests to one public authority can be aggregated for the purposes of
calculating costs if they are:

·         By one person, and

·         The subsequent request is received by the public authority
within 60 working days of the previous request.

Having received your requests, I have concluded that they fall within the
above. I will process your requests and in doing so aggregate the time
taken to process the requests and apply the fees regulations if necessary.
I will advise you if the cost of processing your requests on an aggregated
basis is likely to or will exceed the appropriate limit. If it would do
so, we may refuse this and any further requests until the 60 working days’
time limit has elapsed.

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, the Trust has 20 working days
to respond to your requests from the working day after which we receive
your request into the Trust and would therefore normally do so by 16^th
January 2020. If for any reason it becomes apparent that there could be a
delay in responding to your Freedom of Information Act requests, we will
contact you and keep you fully informed.

If you have any queries then please contact us on the above address or if
by e-mail to [1][Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust request email] quoting the reference NGFOI 19/20: 508

Yours sincerely

Dear Richard,

Thank you for your update. Hopefully for some assurance, the Trust's and CCG's who have responded to all questions so far have been able to achieve this without exceeding reasonable limits as the information requested has been available to the organisation as part of normal operational review reports, or within existing public domain articles to which they have provided links for me to extract relevant information myself.
I had separated our the three FOI requests so as to target the departments most likely to be in a position to answer them directly with little overhead as they are questions relating to normal operations.
Please do let me know if you find your organisation is challenged in collating the information within the reasonable time part of the act.

Yours sincerely,

Clive Townsend
