Information department - coding and activity information request

The request was successful.

Dear East Cheshire NHS Trust,

Please could you provide the following information:

Have you audited your coding in the last year?
If so, what percentage of the records required re-coding or coding re-validation?

How many e-referrals do you process - per month and year?

How many ERS bookings are made - per month and year?

How many appointment cancellations are processed - per month and year?

Do you have an automated process for updating General Practitioner information changes?
If not, how are the updates managed and what is the average delay in the updating process?

How many whole time equivalent team members process incorrectly delivered letters?

Yours faithfully,

Clive Townsend

Dear Foirequests (EAST CHESHIRE NHS TRUST - RJN),

Thanks for your request for clarification.

To simplify, the e-referrals I am interested in would be the ones, which if were to be booked and subsequently cancelled for any reason, would mean your organisation would have to process the cancellation.

I would therefore suggest that this would be any inbound referral from any source, or a department to department internal referral within your own organisation.

Yours sincerely,

Clive Townsend

Dear FOIREQUESTS (EAST CHESHIRE NHS TRUST - RJN),

You have asked "Could you please clarify what you mean by Do you have an automated process for updating General Practitioner information changes? In reference to what?"

To clarify, NHS Digital publish the name and practice information of all GPs. This data is published so that NHS organisations can download it, and use it in their local systems (PAS, Pathology, Radiology for example). There would need to be an SOP followed that gets the data from NHS Digital to these systems. I would like to know if the Trust have a way of this being automated.

Yours sincerely,

Clive Townsend
