Dear J Taylor

Thank you for your correspondence of 20 March 2018 in which you requested
information held by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Your
request was handled in line with your rights under section 1 of the
Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and our response is below.

Request

“The cost of any travel, accommodation and subsistence for the Information
Commissioner's journey to and from Channel 4 News (produced by ITN) for
the live interview on 19 March 2018. 2. Any correspondence between the ICO
and Channel 4 News/ITN about arranging the interview, in the four weeks
prior to the interview”.

Response

In response to question 1, the total cost of travel by train (a return
journey on 19 March 18) is £ 241.50. The cost of other transportation is
£48.44. There is no accommodation cost for this trip.

In response to question 2, please find attached a copy of the
correspondence we exchanged with Channel 4 News regarding the interview
with Elizabeth Denham for the time period you specified.

We have only redacted personal data of third parties from the attached
document. For clarity, we’ve redacted names and contact details of staff
at Channel 4 News under section 40 (2) by virtue of section 40 (3) (a) (i)
of the FOIA which is the exemption concerning personal information.

We consider the disclosure of the personal information of the third
parties to be unfair and therefore in breach of the first data protection
principle which requires personal data to be processed fairly and
lawfully.

We hope you find our response of assistance.

Yours sincerely
