Emma Babbage,

Dear Mr Hughes

Letter providing some information requested

Thank you for your email dated 11th March 2021 where you requested information about any School engagement with Stonewall Diversity Champion.

We have now completed searching for the information you requested. The answers are as follows:

1. Any application you made in 2019 or 2020 to be a “Stonewall Diversity Champion” or to be included on Stonewall/Stonewall Cymru’s “Workplace Equality Index,” including any attachments or appendices to those applications. Please redact personal details if necessary.

We never made an application to be a “Stonewall Diversity Champion” and have no knowledge of the “Workplace Equality Index”. 3 members of staff attended training hosted by Bridgend County Borough Council and delivered by Stonewall. Following that we ran an hour INSET with staff and this then made us Diversity Champions.

2. Any feedback you received in 2019 or 2020 from Stonewall/Stonewall Cymru in relation to either application or programme.

We have never received feedback from Stonewall.

3. Any other communication you have received from Stonewall/Stonewall Cymru in 2019 or 2020 unless privileged or otherwise exempt from disclosure (but if you claim privilege or exemption in relation to any material, please say in broad terms what the material is and the basis on which you claim to be entitled to withhold it).

We have no record of any communication from Stonewall other than access to resources following the training.

4. Full details of any equality impact assessment you carried out connected with any of these applications (including any equality impact assessment carried out prior to an earlier application of the same kind, if no further assessment was done).

We did not carry out an equality impact assessment as no application was made.

5. Details of the total amount of money you paid to Stonewall/Stonewall Cymru (i) in 2019; (ii) in 2020, whether or not as payment for goods or services.

To the best of our knowledge the training was paid for by BCBC and we have not paid anything from school to Stonewall.

6. Whether you intend to
