Information about your communications team
Dear Wakefield College,
I request the following information.
1. What minimum qualifications are required to be a communications manager in your organisation (based on your existing job specs)
2. May I request a copy of the job specification for the position of communications officer
3. How many people work in the communications team & what is the composition, eg one manager and five officers, three managers and ten officers, five managers, five officers and five assistants etc etc
4. May I request a breakdown of the job roles and respective salaries for all posts within the communications team

By way of an introductory comment, Wakefield College does not have a
specific communications team and as such does not have roles of
Communications Manager and Communications Officer. However, a
communications remit is incorporated within some of the roles held within
Wakefield College’s marketing department.
1. What minimum qualifications are required to be a communications
manager in your organisation (based on your existing job specs)
The equivalent role in Wakefield College is the Marketing Manager.
Wakefield College would require the post holder to hold a professional
qualification in Marketing or Public Relations or equivalent.
2. May I request a copy of the job specification for the position of
communications officer
Please see attached job description.
3. How many people work in the communications team & what is the
composition, eg one manager and five officers, three managers and ten
officers, five managers, five officers and five assistants etc etc
There are 5 members of staff within the marketing department: 1 manager, 1
senior officer, 2 officers and 1 assistant.
4. May I request a breakdown of the job roles and respective salaries
for all posts within the communications team
Please see attached job descriptions for those posts within the marketing
department that have a communications function.
