Information about Woodland north of Vilner Lane

Waiting for an internal review by South Gloucestershire Council of their handling of this request.

Dear South Gloucestershire Council,

I am enquiring about the Vilner Lane Woodland that is possibly being destroyed to build a care home.
I live on Vilner Lane and my house borders this land and I rent a portion of it that I use as part of my garden.
Can you supply the following:-
1. The name of the developer wishing to buy the land.
2. How much the developer is offering for the land.
3. Details of the proposed plans they have put forward no matter how brief/sketchy.
4. A copy of the environmental report that has been carried out ... the council have been informed previously that there are bats in the wood and destroying their habitat is a criminal offence.
5. How access to the site will work and what considerations are there for any access crossing a public footpath.
6. Why local residents have not been kept informed. I don’t expect the first I hear of this to be in the Gazette!

Yours faithfully,

Heather Smith

Dear Helen Hudd,

Thank you for your response. However I am not happy with the lack of information . I am therefore asking for clarity on a few points. Related to my other points.
2. I have been informed that "A proportion of the assumed capital receipt from this disposal was ... incorporated as part of the council’s budgets in 2018/19 at the council’s budget setting meeting in February 2019."
I have looked through the information online but cannot see the breakdown of the capital receipts. I believe this is a matter of pub;ic record and can be supplied. Therefore can you please supply the figures relating to this capital receipt.

3. I have issue with the withholding of the sketchy plans I think it would be very much in the public interest to see these at this stage.

3. Thank you for the environment report..

4. In a previous FOI request from 2016 you were able to answer but are not now? The previous answer was through the leisure centre car park.

5. I have great issue with the decision made in 2014. It wasn't until 2016 that I found the "consultation" on the SG website. Residents were not contacted in 2014 about this issue. There appears to be a very short consultation on the webiste Dec 2013 - Jan 2014 but no residents were formally consulted. I think this is very poor for a change in use of land from woodland to industrial that has major impact on the nearby residents.
How are consultation durations decided? Is there a minimum length.
What are the rules about contacting residents?

Yours sincerely,

Heather Smith
