Information about use of data science for special Children Act cases and domestic violence claims

The request was refused by Legal Aid Agency.

Dear Legal Aid Agency,

In response to my earlier request FOI/200617008, the Legal Aid Agency (LAA) disclosed that it had investigated 'how we can use data to inform our approach to SCA/DV claims' (the excerpt is available here: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/6...).

I am requesting the following information in relation to these investigations:
(1) Any documents describing this work done by the LAA, including work done with the Ministry of Justice data science team, to investigate the use of data to inform the LAA's approach to special Children Act cases or domestic violence claims.

(2) Any documents evaluating or assessing this same work. The document linked to above states that '[e]arly investigation has suggested there is potential for significant FTE savings, and implementation is considered viable, however significant work is still required to understand the full impact. There are a number of risk, assurance and implementation hurdles to consider that will require governance.' I am requesting any documents that set out these findings about the benefits and hurdles facing this work.

Yours faithfully,

Jack Maxwell
