Information about the previous 4 admissions cycles for A100 medicine
Dear University of Liverpool
My questions are based on the past 4 medicine admission cycles,
How many people were placed on the reserve list who had post-interview rejections?
How many post-interview rejected people from the reserve list were made an unconditional offer (come results day) and accepted into the medicine course?
If a person was post-interview rejected but placed on the reserve list at a more of a chance of gaining a place if they have better achieved a-levels (more A* grades) e.g. 3A* or 2A*1A than a post-interview rejected individual with the minimum entry standards of 3As but a higher interview score?
If a person was rejected post-interview but placed on the reserve list at a more of a chance of gaining a place if they have better achieved a-levels (more A* grades) e.g. 3A* or 2A*1A than a person who was initially offered a place but failed to meet the offer by a margin e.g. by a grade (e.g. they get AAB on results day)?
If the University of Liverpool were forced to consider the reserve list do you select the students based on how good their A-levels are e.g. prioritising 3 A* students more than 3 A grade students or is it just based on the interview score, UCAT etc?
Would applicants calling you first for available places to see if you accept them be prioritised when filling up available spaces?
Would post-interview rejected applicants (who are on the reserve list) be contacted by you about the decision if so is it by email, or phone? When would you expect post-interview rejected reserve listed applicants to be notified by?
If you have been placed on the reserve list of applicants who were post-interview rejected, when results day comes if I receive at least 3 As would I have to do the interview again before being made an unconditional offer bearing in mind places become available?
May I please know if you have gone into clearing for each of the past 4 admission cycles.
Would you know the A-level results of applicants who have been post-interview rejected (but were placed on reserve/waiting list) before a-level results day or would we have to call you up on results day to tell you what A-level grades we have received in attempting to secure a place?
As you are sending out reserve lists for post-interview rejected applicants, are you expecting to go into clearing this summer/is it likely that you would be going into clearing (what are the chances)?
Yours faithfully,
Raghul Senthil kumar
