Under Section 1(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I can
confirm that The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust holds
information that falls within the definition in your request which is set
out below:

1. What is your annual IT Infrastructure Budget for 2016, 2017 & 2018?

£2.1 Revenue

2. What storage vendor(s) and model do you currently use?

The Trust considers that the public interest in releasing information
about the vendors and models used is outweighed by the need to protect the
health and safety of our patients and staff through effective IT systems
and security. Releasing information about IT systems and security
increases the risk that we will expose our computer systems to
vulnerabilities. This in turn may compromise the integrity and
confidentiality of personal information that has been provided in
confidence by our patients and is integral to their health and care. This
then risks endangering their physical or mental health (for example,
through the risk of unauthorised access to or malicious corruption of
information about their health and care) and/or their physical safety
(through unauthorised access to personal identifiable information). Such
information is therefore exempt from publication in accordance with
Section 38 (Health and Safety) of the Freedom of Information Act.

3. When was the installation date of above storage vendor(s)? (Month/year)

Various over the last five years

4. When is your planned (or estimated) storage refresh date? (Month/year)

When funds are made available

5. What is your estimated budget for the refresh?

Under Section 43 of the Act, it is the view of The Shrewsbury and Telford
Hospital NHS Trust that providing estimated budgets for future services is
exempt from disclosure as releasing this information would prejudice our
abilities as a public authority to operate competitively within a
commercial market for the provision of agency services.

Specifically, releasing such information would reveal to potential
contractors the price breakdown that has been paid by the Trust and
thereby reduce our ability in future to negotiate prices that offer the
best value to the public purse.  The Trust has considered the public
interest test and given the potential burden on the public purse has
assessed that the public interest in disclosing this information is not
outweighed by the public interest in safeguarding the commercial interests
of the Trust.

6. What is the capacity of the storage data in TB?

800TB

7. The total number of IT staff employed by the organization

5000+

8. Please list and provide contact details for the IT senior management
team including CIO, IT Director and Infrastructure Architects if

your request. Furthermore I can confirm under Section 21 of the Act that
this information is reasonably available to you by other means as it is
published via our Publication Scheme,
[1]https://www.sath.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploa...

9. Please confirm if you are utilising desktop virtualisation technologies
and if so how many users do you provide services for?

No

10. What backup software do you use?

The Trust considers that the public interest in releasing information
about backup software being used is outweighed by the need to protect the
health and safety of our patients and staff through effective IT systems
and security.

11. How much data do you backup in TB?

All data

12. Number of servers?

50

13. What operating system(s) do you use?

The Trust considers that the public interest in releasing information
about operating systems being used is outweighed by the need to protect
the health and safety of our patients and staff through effective IT
systems and security.
