Information about the Geospatial Commission and addresses

Cabinet Office did not have the information requested.

Dear Cabinet Office,

I am trying to understand how and whether UK address data was considered by the Geospatial Commission as part of the development of the Geospatial Strategy and 2022/23 action plan.

I would specifically like:

- any assessment of the potential social and economic benefits of address data that was prepared for the Geospatial Strategy and 2022/23 action plan
- any assessment of the quality of UK address data that has been made by the Geospatial Commission
- any assessment of how UK address data issues (such as missing or incorrect addresses) impacts citizens ability to buy and use private services, such as gas, telecoms, insurance, or food delivery
- any assessment of how UK address data issues (such as missing or incorrect addresses) impacts citizen use of public services, such as voter registration, tax payments, or benefits such as Universal Credit and pensions
- any assessment of the volume and types of UK address data issues that affect citizens when using public or private services

Yours faithfully,
Peter Wells
