Information about flags being flown at the council
Dear Dacorum Borough Council,
I would be grateful for answers to the following questions:
1. Between what years did the council fly the Pride flag (6 horizontal colours) on public flag poles for?
2.What year did the council begin to fly the Progress Pride flag on public flag poles?
3. On what dates has the council flown the Progress Flag or the Pride Flag since 2018?
4. Can the council provide evidence that planning permission was applied for and granted to fly the Progress Pride flag?
4a. What dates were applied for and granted?
5.How much money has been spent each year since 2018 on updating the Progress Pride flag? A year can be Jan to Dec or the financial accounting year whichever is easier.
6. What other flags does the council fly from the LGBTQ+ community e.g., the pink/white/blue trans flag? The bisexual flag?
6a. On what days are these flags flown?
6b. How much money has been spent on LGBTQ+ related flags?
7. Does the council have any plans to promote and fly flags representing any other groups of people who share a protected characteristic during the year? For example groups focussing on Disability, Race or Religion?
8. Do you own a Green/White/Purple Suffragette Flag? If so, do you fly this flag on International Women’s Day or Women in Engineering Day?
8a. Which days do you fly the Suffragette flag on?
8b. If not has there ever been discussion about flying such a flag and what was the decision?
Yours faithfully,
R Smith
