Info on Adjustment - Economics
Dear London School of Economics,
I write to get some information about admissions through Adjustment at LSE.
Can you please provide me with the following information for the admissions cycles of the Years 2018, 2019, 2020 (and 2021 if available):
1) The number of seats available for adjustment in the courses:
a) BSc Economic History,
b) BSc Economics
c) BSc Finance
d) BSc Management
e) BSc International Social and Public Policy and Economics
f) BSc Mathematics, Statistics and Business
g) BSc Philosophy and Economics
2) The number of applicants accepted in each of the above course through adjustment in the respective years;
3) The Most common grades students received on results day to get accepted onto the courses through Adjustment;
4) The 5 most common subjects of the students that get accepted onto the courses through Adjustment.
The following requests do not require an answer for each year:
5) The process of how LSE assesses if a student should be accepted or rejected through adjustment,
6) The contact number of LSE through which the Adjustment process will take place.
7) Can applicants that have already been rejected through the January-May assessment period still be considered through Adjustment, and if so, are there any conditions or considerations to keep in mind?
I humbly request that I receive the requested information at least a week before A level results day so that I can prepare to apply.
I thank you for your time.
Yours sincerely,
M Sheikh
Thank you for your email. As you will appreciate, information requests
place additional demands on the School in terms of costs and staff time.
At present we are having to prioritise our finite resources in order to
meet the unprecedented challenges we are facing during the Coronavirus
(COVID-19) pandemic. As such, we need to advise you that while we will
continue to process individual requests, you may experience some delay in
our response during the current pandemic.
Dear Mohammed
Further to your recent FoI request, the Schools response is provided below:
The LSE has never participated in UCAS Adjustment.
If you think that the information provided does not meet your request, contact Rachael Maguire on 020 7849 4622 or write to Louise Nadal, School Secretary, London School of Economics and Political Science, Houghton Street, London, WC2A 2AE. We will then review the response to your request and get back to you within 20 working days. You can also contact the Information Commissioner's Office http://www.ico.gov.uk/, though they expect the internal review to be carried out before receiving a complaint directly.
