Dear Shaan Bhaarj,
Your request was received on 8 November 2024 and I am dealing with it under the terms of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’).
You asked:
Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge,
I would like to request the following information for the G100 Mathematics course, for the
application cycles of 2023 and 2024.
For each applicant: their interview scores and whether they were Pooled, Successful or
Unsuccessful and A level grades. Also is it possible to see the percentage of pooled applicants
who get fished from the pool by other colleges for this course.
This information is attached. The University has aggregated the data across the two years to prevent
the risk of any individual being identified. In presenting the information in this way, the University is
engaging the exemption at section 40(3A)(a) of the Act because the release of the raw data would
breach the first data protection principle (the fair, lawful and transparent processing of personal data)
as set out in the UK General Data Protection Regulation. This part of section 40 confers absolute
exemption under the Act.
Please note that the attached document should not be copied, reproduced or used except in
accordance with the law of copyright.
If you wish to request an internal review of this response, you should contact us quoting the reference
number above. The University would normally expect to receive your request for an internal review
within 40 working days of the date of this letter and reserves the right not to review a decision where
there has been undue delay in raising a complaint. If you are not content with the outcome of your
