Dear Mr Cavens,

Thank you for your correspondence of 27 November about the Infected Blood
Inquiry.  I have been asked to reply.

As stated in David Lidington’s written ministerial statement, the
Department is considering the comments made by Sir Brian about financial
and psychological support for the infected and affected.

In the new year, Jackie Doyle-Price, Parliamentary Under Secretary of
State for Mental Health, Inequalities and Suicide Prevention, will be
meeting the Infected Blood Inquiry secretariat and beneficiary groups to
listen to the concerns raised by Sir Brian.

I hope this reply is helpful.

Yours sincerely,

Rory Howard
