Induction and guidance for Clinical Advisers

The request was partially successful.

Dear Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman

PHSO's Service Model Policy and Guidance: main guidance Version 16.0 states in section 3, paragraph 27, that "An induction and guidance pack is also available for our internal clinical advisers" with an associated footnote 35 to a hyperlink "Clinical Adviser guidance", although this hyperlink does not work on the publicly available version of Service Model Policy and Guidance: main guidance.

Under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am writing to request a copy of PHSO's induction and guidance pack for its internal clinical advisers.

PHSO's Service Model Policy and Guidance: main guidance states in Annex F. Principles for the Provision of Clinical Advice that "The Clinical Advice Directorate has produced guidance for External Advisers which can be viewed here." The word "here" is a hyperlink which does not work on the publicly available version of Service Model Policy and Guidance: main guidance.

Under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am writing to request a copy of the guidance produced by PHSO's Clinical Advice Directorate for External Advisers.

Yours faithfully

William Wetherell

First Report - Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman Scrutiny 2020–21

Published 20 May 2022 HC 213 Report

https://committees.parliament.uk/work/15...

'47. Appearing before the Committee, Mr Behrens acknowledged work delivering against the Donaldson recommendations is incomplete but that good progress has been made, including the launch of multi-disciplinary conferences and providing greater feedback to clinicians. Mr Behrens explained the PHSO is addressing concerns raised in the Donaldson review by piloting a new scheme which focuses on a systematic approach to investigations, as maladministration may extend beyond an individual case.'
