Dear Department for Education,
I was wondering if there was a full list of the Trusts across the UK which look after Independent schools, both Prep, Primary and Secondary?
I have seen that the below is available for Multi Academy Trusts, however these are all State Schools; https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/n...
If there is something similar, please could you let me know either where I could find this, or send me a similar link to the one above?

I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
I should explain that all academies follow a similar format, with the only

based on this information.
The information held for independent schools does not provide a clear
indication about whether the school is a trust or not. This department’s
interest in an independent school is linked to the registered proprietor
rather than a trust, if one is associated with the school; this may or may

To be helpful I have provided a list of all independent schools in England
along with their proprietors, this information has been extracted from

trust may not be the same thing. Also, a school trust may not be a
charitable trust, and not all schools are run by a trust.
The Department for Education is responsible for education, children’s
services, higher and further education policy, apprenticeships and wider
skills in England; the devolved administrations in Wales, Northern Ireland
and Scotland each have responsibility for education in those parts of the
