Independent review of reservoir safety documentation, Aldenham Reservoir

The request was successful.

Dear Environment Agency,

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from you.

Please provide the information in the form of an email reply to me.

In October 2015, Hertsmere Borough Council (HBC) commissioned an Independent review of reservoir safety documentation regarding Aldenham Reservoir in the parish of Elstree and Borehamwood in Hertfordshire. In particular, in its conclusions, it stated that

"The next Section 10 Inspection under the Reservoirs Act is required by 24th June 2019."

Please could you provide a copy of the results of this 2019 inspection to me? I recently requested this from HBC but they suggested that "The Environment Agency is the relevant authority for the purposes of the Reservoirs Act 1975," hence my approach to you.

If it is not possible to provide the information requested due to this exceeding the cost of compliance limits identified in Section 12, please provide advice and assistance, under the Section 16 obligations of the Act, as to how I can refine my request.

If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact me via email or phone and I will be very happy to clarify what I am asking for and discuss the request, my details are outlined below.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response.

Yours faithfully,

Dr Dan Ozarow

Dear Enquiries, Unit,

As you will be aware, I have made an FOI request 191121/EC06 to obtain the Independent review of reservoir safety documentation, Aldenham Reservoir. This is a reminder that the 20 working days within which you are required to do this expires in two days time, so I look forward to receiving this before then. There is now a degree of urgency involved for me to be able to see this document. Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Dan Ozarow
