Indefinite leave to remain - based on long term residence of 10 years - Any change in rules?

S Yang made this Freedom of Information request to UK Border Agency

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, UK Border Agency should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

From: S Yang

8 April 2010

Dear UK Border Agency,

This is a FOI request.

There is provision to apply for indefinite leave to remain
(settlement) based on long term residency e.g. if someone is living
in the UK for 10 years.

Would you please provide information of any changes or planned
changes that affects the above rule and / or a date when any change
is due to happen that would affect settlement application of
someone completing 10 years residence in the UK in the future.

Thank you

Yours faithfully,

S Yang
