Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to make a Freedom of Information (FOI) request under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I kindly request that you provide me with the following information regarding the income, allowances, and benefits received by Members of Parliament (MPs) in the United Kingdom.
1. Income from Taxpayer Money:
a) Please provide a breakdown of the total income received by MPs from taxpayer money, specifically relating to wages, allowances, and expenses for the most recent fiscal year available.
2. Allowances and Expenses:
a) Provide a detailed list of ALL allowances and expenses available to MPs. Please specify the purpose of each allowance (e.g., travel, food allowance, hotel stays or visits, rent, etc.), as well as the total amount allocated for each allowance.
b) If applicable, please indicate whether there is a maximum limit for each allowance per year and specify the amounts of these limits.
3. Minimum Working Hours for MPs:
a) State the minimum number of hours per week or other defined period that MPs are required to work, as per the guidelines or regulations governing their role.
b) Provide any evidence or documentation that outlines the minimum working hours for MPs.
4. Additional Benefits or Perks:
a) Please disclose any and all additional benefits or perks available to MPs beyond their income, allowances, and expenses, e.g., travel, cars. This may include access to facilities, discounts, or any other privileges associated with their position.
5. Disclosure Format:
a) Please provide the requested information in electronic format, preferably as a digital document such as a PDF or Word file.
I understand that there may be exemptions to the release of certain information, as outlined in the Freedom of Information Act 2000. If any exemptions apply to the requested information, I kindly request that you provide a clear explanation for each exemption invoked.
I believe that the requested information is in the public interest as it pertains to the transparency and accountability of public funds allocated to MPs. The information will contribute to a better understanding of the financial aspects of parliamentary representation

apply variations to the normal 20 working day timescale in some limited

In our constitutional arrangements , as elected office-holders MPs are
accountable to their electors for their work as MPs – IPSA does not have
the remit to set MP working patterns and neither does the House of Commons
