Dear Joe,
Thank you for your email, received on 16^th May 2020, asking for
information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, you have submitted
a request asking for the following information:
“Please could you supply details of incidents attended in 2017 which
attract the following:
Date, time, appliances, specialist appliances , officers and callsigns,
Incident end time, The number of Personnel on the Vehicles, Stations that
was in attendance, type of incident, location, type of premises i.e.
hospital, outcome i.e. fire or secondary fire and the Stop message. From
January 1st to 31st December.”
In response, I would like to direct you to the readily available and wide
range of information about the incidents that the LFB publishes through
the [1]London Data Store. Details of every incident responded to since
January 2009 are available to download via this [2]link.
The information provided on this websites should answer most of your
questions. I would be concerned at this stage that providing all of the
requested information may identify other individuals’ personal data.
Individuals and organisations affected by an incident that was attended by
London Fire Brigade since 2001 can also request a ‘fire report’ which, for
fires that involve buildings, vehicles, or those that cause injuries,
provides more details about the incident (four pages) and the cause of the
fire where known. There is a charge for each fire report which is
currently £100.
Fire reports are not available under the freedom of information act (FOIA)
as they are considered a chargeable service and, as such, will incur a
fee. As a result they are exempt via [3]Section 21 of the FOIA -
Information accessible to applicant by other means. Regrettably this
means we cannot provide you with a copy of the primary fire report (or the
information held within it) without payment.
If you do want to go ahead and request a copy of any fire reports, I must
also advise that you may not be eligible to receive a copy. However, if
any eligible party (such as the owner/a tenant/local borough
council/insurance firm or loss adjustor) requests the primary fire report
document, and is willing to share it with you, then we would be able to
provide consent for them to do this.
I trust you understand our position and I hope you find the information we
have been able to provide of use. Should you have any further questions
please do let me know.
This request has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act
2000. If you are dissatisfied by this response you can request an
internal review by writing to the Head of Information Management at the
address below (or email [4][email address])
Further information about your information rights (including how to raise
a concern or make a complaint) is available from the Information
Commissioner’s Office on their website at [5]www.ico.org.uk or by writing
to them at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Regards
