Dear Jack Chiverton,

Our Ref: FOI/3462

On 17/02/2022 you made the following request for information, which has
been dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000.

FOI Re: Fire and Rescue - Incident statistics for 2020-21

We have now completed a search for the information which you requested and
confirm that this Authority holds data relevant to your request.

The Response to your request is as follows:

Please find attached a spreadsheet containing data relating to questions 1
to 8.

 Please note the following:

Question 4. Retained Duty System availability per appliance

We don’t report availability by appliance, we report the percentage of
shifts where the full requirement of firefighters are available at each
station. This is what has been included in the data

Question 9. Number of incidents reported in West Sussex that were not
attended

We do not hold information on the number of emergency calls that we did
not attend.  Our Service operates a Joint Fire Control with Surrey FRS,
who receive emergency calls on common lines and who were, for the period
in question, unable to separate WSFRS emergency call statistics from
Surrey FRS emergency calls. there is no information relating to this
question in the spreadsheet.

Dear West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service's handling of my FOI request 'Incident statistics for 2020-21'.

Firstly, thank you for the detailed response to my previous request. I'd like to apologise for filing this internal review. However, I feel it may be the only way to gain a further response as it becomes a legal requirement.

Please would it be possible to have the same information provided for all specialist resources/vehicles? Including but not excluding: Heavy Rescue Tenders, Water Carriers, Aerial Ladder Platforms, Technical Rescue Unit; Light 4x4 Tenders, Urban Search and Rescue and In-Shore Rescue Boats etc.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/i...

Thank you and apologies once again,
Jack Chiverton

Dear Jack Chiverton ,

Thank you for your request for a review of your request FOI 3462.  I

The purpose of a review under the legislation is to check whether all the
information held by the council has been supplied, and/or whether any
exemptions have been properly applied. It is not clear from your request
what you think it is about the response from the council that you feel
does not meet the requirements of the legislation. If you are saying that
you don't think the council has complied with the legislation in answering
your previous request then please could you set out what you think has
been done incorrectly.

If on the other hand you are now asking for information that was not
covered by your request, then this would be treated as a separate request,
and not as a review. If this is a request for separate information, please
could you set out exactly what you are asking for, as it is not clear from
your review request.

Please send your clarification by responding to this email. Please do not
amend the Subject line.

if we do not receive clarification within 40 working days we will treat
the request as having been withdrawn, in line with the ICO Section 45 Code
of Practice.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Dave Loveman
