Incident Involving Amateur Photographer Outside HMCTS Property

The request was partially successful.

Dear Her Majesty’s Courts and the Tribunals Service,

I am making this request under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Video footage has been uploaded to YouTube that shows an amateur photographer involved in an altercation with HMCTS security staff:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RRvyI03...

The incident took place outside the Residential Property Tribunal, 10 Alfred Place, London, WC1E 7RL, sometime quite recently.

The amateur photographer was filming the external of the building, and adjacent properties, from the public footpath as he is legally permitted to do. Footage shows member of security staff, who had been sitting behind the front desk of the building, move outside and act aggressively towards the photographer for a continuous period of at least 10 minutes. One of the security staff was heard to say "I will smash your camera".

Please provide all information HMCTS holds about this particular incident. This includes, but is not limited to, any HMCTS documents, emails or handwritten notes relating to the incident in question. It will also include any relevant correspondence between HMCTS and the security contractor that employed the staff in question.

Yours faithfully,

Peter Jones
