In house or external exam setters

Conan Neeson made this Freedom of Information request to AQA
This authority is not subject to FOI law, so is not legally obliged to respond (details).
This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was refused by AQA.

Dear AQA,

Do you have and in house team or do you use an external contractor for setting and amending your exam papers, mark schemes etc? If you use a mixture of both who does the main bulk of the operations? What is the salary of the in house team of typesetters and editors?

Yours faithfully,

Mr. Neeson

Hello Conan
Thank you for your email.
The terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 apply specifically to
public authorities.
As AQA isn't a public authority, it is not subject to the terms of this
legislation and, as such, we don't have in place mechanisms to respond to
Freedom of Information requests.
We're therefore unable to provide you with the requested information.
You can find some general information about how we create question papers
on our [1]website and that may help to answer some of your questions.

I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but if there's anything else I can
help you with, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards
Kat Ryan
