Implementation of Electronic Prescribing Medicines Administration
Dear The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust,
In light of the 2018 Manchester University study which concluded that over 200 million prescribing errors were made every year in NHS Hospitals and Pharmacies, the UK Government has committed over £78million of funding for Electronic Prescribing Medicines Administration.
Please could you advise
Q1. Has your trust all ready fully implemented ePMA wherever it is relevant and possible to do so?
If no, please go to Q3
Q2. If yes, does the trust use mobile devices so ePMA can be accessed at the point of care, wherever it is relevant and possible to do so?
If Yes to Q1 and Q2 this FOI request is satisfied.
Q3 Has the trust applied for 2019/20 NHSi funding to fully implement ePMA?
if No
Q4 Does the trust intend to apply for 2020/21 NHSi funding to fully implement ePMA?
if No
If the trust does not intend to apply, or is ineligible, or unsuccessful, Does the trust intend to implement ePMA via some other funded route. and if so by when?
