Immigration enforcement compensation payouts - London and South East
Dear Home Office,
Please treat the following as a request for the disclosure of information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Please disclose the number of ex-gratia payments made by the Home Office to claimants who are subject to a visit by immigration enforcement, where "Enforcement Officers visit an address where illegal immigrants are wrongly thought to be staying and cause unnecessary worry for the occupier" (as per the Home Office guidance available here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk...)
Please disclose the total number of payments of this type arising from visits carried out by immigration enforcement teams in the London and South East region between 01/01/2019 and 31/12/2019 and the value of said payments.
Yours faithfully,
Mary Atkinson

Dear Home Office,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of the Home Office's handling of my FOI request 'Immigration enforcement compensation payouts - London and South East,' reference 60950.
The Home Office has previously disclosed the level of ex gratia payments made - please see here for an example of such a disclosure: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/p.... This leads me to believe that information regarding ex gratia payments is compiled in a reportable format, and that the information requested could in fact be disclosed without exceeding the cost limit.
The original request was broken down by region with a view to keeping it below the cost limit. However, if information regarding ex gratia payments is in fact stored centrally, please disclose the total number and value of ex gratia payments relating to immigration enforcement visits at 'addresses where illegal immigrants are wrongly thought to be staying' across all regions of the UK.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/i...
Yours faithfully,
Mary Atkinson
