Dear Phil Johnston,

I am not requesting an Internal review at this stage. However, I am requesting that the IPCC deal with my request correctly and within the law.

My request was for;

Under FOIA 2000 please supply details of;

1. Please supply full details of the 'wider concerns' that have been raised by Denise Aubrey when she wrote to the IPCC.

2. As well as 1 above, did Denise Aubrey raise any concerns of corruption against Northumbria police and or make an allegations of corruption within Northumbria police or against any of its staff or
officers. If so, please supply full details"

The IPCC claim that same is exempt, that it (according to IPCC) is personal information. It very clearly is not. Moreover, Denise Aubrey (who had been Head of Northumbria Police Legal Department) spoke to a newspaper (link supplied, see above request) and she spoke very openly (and in public) about;

"She has written to the Independent Police Complaints Commission and Crime Commissioner Vera Baird, claiming she was unfairly forced out of her job, as well as raising wider concerns."

The public have a right to know about such issues, 'wider concerns'. The IPCC can continue to protect the Northumbria Police, to cover-up same. The IPCC are aware that it is unlawful to conceal ... no exempt recorded information and/or to withhold it for reason/s of embarrassment (to themselves or Northumbria police).

I await your reply.

Yours sincerely,

Martin McGartland
