Dear  Colin Patterson

Freedom of Information Act 2000

Thank you for your request for information about  Ill Health Pensions
which we received on 18 January 2021 .

We are currently dealing with your request under the  Freedom of
Information Act 2000  and we aim to send our response to you on or before
15 February 2021 .
The  Freedom of Information Act 2000  may restrict the release of some or
all of the information you have requested.  If this is the case we
will carry out an assessment and will inform you of any  exemptions  that
apply.

In some cases, a fee may be payable. If this happens, we will send you a
fees notice detailing a summary of the proposed cost, and terms of
payment, which would need to be paid before we are able to proceed.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Please note that whilst requests made under the Freedom of Information Act
2000 and Environmental Information Regulations will continue to be logged

involved in crucial work to support Somerset residents through this
difficult time and this may impact their ability to provide the
information needed to respond to some requests in a timely manner.  Thank
you for your patience and understanding at this challenging time.

If you have any further queries or would like to discuss your request
please contact me quoting your reference detailed at the top of this

Dear Somerset County Council,
Could you please elaborate on how a previous employee "uprates" their pension to an IHR from a "normal" pension - ie Retrospective ?

Yours sincerely,

CP

Somerset County Council, Somerset Council

Dear Mr Patterson,

Please see below the response to your question from our HR Team.

There is no policy guidance on this as it is an unusual scenario. If this
scenario applies to the individual making the freedom of information
request and they would like to explore this further, we would suggest they
make contact with us to discuss their individual circumstances. It would
be best for them to make contact with us through our HR Advisory Team
using [1][email address].

In addition, they may want to speak with Peninsula Pensions (01392 383000)
directly around the specific process to be followed.

Regards

Tracey Crabb
