Here is North Somerset Council’s respond to your request FOI/2013/0927 :

Under section 43 of the Freedom of Information Act, we are not required to respond to a request if doing so would prejudice or would be likely to prejudice someone’s commercial interests. As our ICES contract is soon to be re-tendered, we feel that responding to the remainder of your request would be likely to prejudice the commercial interests of the prospective contractors. We are therefore applying the section 43 exemption in this instance.

There are two questions in the request that can be answered:
- What is the total population covered by your ICES?
2011 Census the resident population of North Somerset was 202,566.

- What is the end date on your current contract with your current provider?
30 September 2014

In line with the Freedom of Information Act (2000) and the Freedom of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations 2004, the Council reserves the right to charge for disbursements, such as photocopying and postage. However, on this occasion no fee will be charged.
