Thank you for your e-mail received by Transport for London (TfL) on
January 14 2009. You asked for information about the 'iBus' facility.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of
Information Act. I can confirm that TfL does hold the information you
require. Please see as follows:

1. The number of buses that have been fitted with the iBus technology
as of January 2009:

- as of the end of January 2009 the number of buses fitted with iBus
technology was 7,578.

2. The number of complaints received from bus company or TfL
employees relating to the use of the iBus:
- the number of complaints received between January 23 2008 and February
11 2009 against iBus and made by employees of - or those working on behalf
of - Transport for London was 254.

3. The current cost of fitting iBus technology as of January 2009:

- the cost of fitting iBus to buses and garages up to January 3 2009 was
£18,821,839.
