Dear Dundee City Council,

By Law all my information should have been received and I would like to request a international review

Yours faithfully,

Kirsty

Dear Dundee City Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Dundee City Council's handling of my FOI request 'I would like the Following FOI request for. Legal terms and conditions for keeping my information private and confidential and information privacy policy terms of receiving information'.

[ GIVE DETAILS ABOUT YOUR COMPLAINT HERE ]
I feel I have already submitted my information to a previous#FOI#. I also feel I would be backing track if I didn't do anything about this. Seems to get a little to often.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/i...

Yours faithfully,

Kirsty

Dundee City Council

Dear Kirsty,

In order to respond to your review request of your recent enquiry under
Freedom of Information (FOI), I need to consider what type of information
you are requesting.

My understanding of your request is that it is about your personal
circumstances and I would advise that, unfortunately, FOI is not the way
to do this.
This is because any information released under FOI rules means that it
would be open for everyone to read. However, as it is your personal
information, the FOI rules prevent me from releasing it.

However, this doesn’t mean you can’t get information the Council holds
about you - it just means there is another way of making the request.
Asking for your personal information is through a process called a Subject
Access Request or SAR, and is different to FOI.

One of the ways it is different is that we need more information about
you. This is because we need to be sure of who you are before providing
the personal information we hold.

We also need more information about what you are looking for to help
narrow our search, for example it looks like you are looking for
information from our Social Services, probably Children and Families?
My colleague did reply on 19 June 2017 through the WhatDoTheyKnow
website explaining what we needed from you before we could search for your
information under SAR.
Until we get that information from you we can’t start your request.

Please don’t reply through WhatDoTheyKnow to provide the personal
information we have asked for, as it is a public website and everyone can
read it. Instead, please use the following correspondence details for
email and letter below to request a Subject Access Request:

Jane Martin

Chief Social Work Officer / Head of Integrated Children's Services and
Community Justice

Children and Families Service

Dundee City Council,

Floor 2 Dundee House,

50, North Lindsay Street,

Dundee
DD1 1NF

Email Address: [1][email address]

In reading through your request, I noticed that you appear to be raising
various concerns about your personal information and how it was used.
While a subject access request will provide you with the information held
about you by the Council, I believe that it would not be able to provide
you with answers to your concerns. Therefore, I have been in contact with
Children and Families Services and they would like to offer to arrange a
meeting with one of the Service Managers in order to discuss your
concerns. Again, please use the same correspondence details to set up a
meeting.

Even though I don’t believe that your request is a Freedom of Information
request, but rather a Subject Access Request, I am required to provide the
FOI technical reason for a review and how to appeal, if you wish.

The technical reason under FOI law relates to section 38(1)(a) within the
Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 – your personal information.
However, if you do believe that your personal information should be
released under FOI rules then you can always ask for assistance from, or
appeal to, the independent Scottish FOI Ombudsman, or Office of Scottish
Information Commissioner, to decide whether this is the correct decision.
Their contact details are:
Office of the Scottish Information Commissioner
Kinburn Castle
Doubledykes Road
