Bell, Christopher (NO, North East),

Dear Mr Beacon,

I am writing in response to your request for information under the Freedom
of Information Act received 14th January 2013.

In response to your request for information of who is responsible for the
maintenance of the following numbered cameras, 21901,21902, 21903, 21904
and 21905 have not been fully installed and therefore there is no
maintenance for these cameras. 21458, 21450, 21498 and 21505 are
maintained by the Highways Agency.

Cameras 21901,21902, 21903, 21904 and 21905 were installed in 2008 however
the operating system has never been fully installed.
21458, 21450, 21498 and 21505 were installed on 3/3/10.

By way of Routine Maintenance a CCTV Camera General Test was carried out
on 19/12/12 on 21458, 21450, 21498,and, 21505.
In addition reactive maintenance was carried out on 21498 when a fault was
rectified on 14/3/12.  An engineer 're-addressed and reset faulty
equipment'.

No maintenance has been carried out on cameras 21901, 21903, 21903, 21904
and 21905. It is not possible to undertake maintenance
of non-operational cameras. The cameras were set up to use wireless
connections, however they did not comply with a newly introduced code of
connection policy. The viability of bringing these cameras back into
operation is currently being considered.

The following organisations have access to the cameras:
    Highways Agency (including all RCC's)
    MOD
    The police
    Fluor
    Simulation Systems Limited (SSL)
    Mouchel
    Telent Technology Services
    A-One Integrated Highways Services
