Dear Emma Grimes,
Thanks for the information on the categories 1 and 2 of my request. However the managers of the health visiting service should be annually profiling all 4 categories requested, as this is a measure of how well the service is targeted, as well as how safely the service is being managed (equity, identifying potential at risk families, work load distribution, prediction of staff burn out etc)
Would it be possible to address my FOIA question to those responsible for the service rather than proxy measures from the local authority?
Many thanks!
Yours sincerely,
PJBallinger
Dear sirs
Please can you confirm which 1 or the 3 FOI request you are refering to as the information that you are asking is unclear.
Kind Regards
Emma

Dear Emma Grimes,
I am refering to
3. Children identified as 'Children with Special Needs'
4. Children identified as living in families/homes where at least one adult was identified as needing extra support.
As you have only partly answered my request with the CP and CIN figures. I believe that the additional information should be available from annual reviews of the health visitor caseloads which assess how work is targeted, the equity and safety of the caseloads. Trusting this clarifies the matter.
Yours sincerely,
PJBallinger

Dear Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust's handling of my FOI request 'HV numbers and caseload sizes 2006-2011'.
1. They have muddled 2 separate requests for caseload numbers and children under 5 years requiring extra support
2. They have refused to provide information regarding the numbers of children under 5 yrs with special needs and families in which one parent requires additional support due to mental, physical or drug/alcohol problems. Given that according to 'Transforming services for children, young people and their families' and 'Transforming services for health and well-being and reducing inequalities' these are the very children and families that should be targeted to be supported, the very fact that data is so elusive, does raise questions about service delivery.
3. Given that health visitor caseload profiling should be regularly occuring both to ensure that resources are appropriately and equitably targeted, and that workloads are safe and equitable, in line with dignity at work, the lack of data readily available raises questions about how safely and efficiently the service is managed.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,
PJBallinger
