Humble address
Dear Lord Mayor c/o the City of London Corporation,
Does the City of London Corporation share publicly real time information regarding flood warnings; for example where is it possible to obtain real time information as to the status of the Thames Barrier for example?
More concerningly, how many Londoners were disenfranchised from their ward election on Thursday despite voting for a Labour government in July? Or was it only those declaring their liberty on the passage?
Yours faithfully,
G D
Dear G D Jones,
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 (FOIA) - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
The City of London (CoL) acknowledges receipt of your request for information of 21 March 2025.
Public authorities are required to respond to requests within the statutory timescale of 20 working days beginning from the first working day after they receive a request. The Act does not always require public authorities to disclose the information which they hold.
The FOIA applies to the CoL as a local authority, police authority and port health authority. The CoL is the local and police authority for the "Square Mile", ie the historic City of London, and not for London as a whole. Please see the following page containing a link to a map (City of London - Interactive Mapping), which shows the local authority area covered by the CoL:
https://www.mapping.cityoflondon.gov.uk/...
The CoL does have some functions, including Port Health Authority functions, which extend beyond the City boundary. For further information please see: http://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/.

Dear G D Jones,
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 (FOIA) - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
Following your request of 21 March 2025, and our acknowledgement of 24
March 2025, the City of London (CoL) responds as follows:
Does the City of London Corporation share publicly real time information
regarding flood warnings; for example where is it possible to obtain real
time information as to the status of the Thames Barrier for example?
The CoL lists all of the relevant sites for weather warning and flood
alerts on the Flood Guidance section of our Flooding webpage under the
subheading 'Early warning of flooding':

Real time flood warning information can be found on the Environment
Agency’s Check for flooding webpage:
[2]https://check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/
For information on the Thames Barrier, please see the following webpage:

More concerningly, how many Londoners were disenfranchised from their ward
election on Thursday despite voting for a Labour government in July? Or
was it only those declaring their liberty on the passage?
The CoL has applied the FOIA section 21(1) exemption (information
reasonably accessible to the applicant by other means) to the information
that you have requested.
The 2025 City elections results can be found on the following webpage:

We hope that this response is of assistance.

The FOIA applies to the CoL as a local authority, police authority and

(GSMD), which it manages. Subject to any other statutory provisions
requiring the CoL to disclose information, release of information outside
