1. How many HSJ (Health Services Journal) Award events Health Education England has attended in the financial year 2013-14

2. How many Health Education England representatives attended each of the above events in the financial year 2013-14

3. Total expenditure on purchasing group tables and individual places at each event, including bookings for forthcoming award events in financial year 2014-15.

I refer to your email of 30 July requesting information relating to Health
Education England attendance of Health Service Journal events.

 

I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act
2000 (FOIA) that we do hold some information that may be useful to you in
terms of your request.

 

Your request

 

Please can you supply the following information:

 1. How many HSJ (Health Services Journal) Award events Health Education
England has attended in the financial year 2013-14.

 2. How many Health Education England representatives attended each of the
above events in the financial year 2013-14.

 3. Total expenditure on purchasing group tables and individual places at
each event, including bookings for forthcoming award events in financial
year 2014-15.

Response

1.    Having referred to our financial records held by the national
finance team and colleagues at the 13 local education and training boards
(LETBs) I can confirm that Health Education England (HEE) attended two
events in 2013/14 (HSJ Annual Awards and HSJ Patient Safety Awards).

2.    At the HSJ Annual Awards, in November 2013, 6 HEE representatives
attended, along with 6 guests who were representatives from the trust(s)
that had been nominated in recognition of their achievements in relation
to HEE’s Better Training Better Care programme.  Representatives from
Health Education West Midlands attended the HSJ Patient Safety Awards
2013.  We do not hold information on how many staff attended.

3.    Invoices were paid to Emap Ltd (the organising company of the HSJ
events) in July 2013 (£2400 including VAT) and November 2013 (£2820
including VAT).  HEE do not have any bookings confirmed for events in
2014-15.
