HS2 jobs
Dear Department for Transport,
Over recent months various ministers and HS2 Ltd employees have claimed that HS2 is 'supporting 7000 jobs'
Could you please explain exactly what this means?
What crtiteria do you use to determine whether or not a job is being 'supported' by HS2?
How was the number '7000' determined? Please show your working.
Yours faithfully,
Joe Rukin

Dear Mr Rukin
Thank you for your e-mail sent earlier today in which you chase the
response to your FOI request of 16 February in which you asked for details
of the 7000 jobs that HS2 was claiming to support.
The attached letter was sent out to you on 13 March and has not been
altered in any way. I am no longer able to access emails from the mailbox
that the response would have been sent from which is why the response to
FOI F0017134 about the commencement of enabling works on HS2 was sent from
my own email address ([1][email address]) rather than the
high speed rail mailbox.
Please let me know by return if you did not receive that response which
was sent out on Friday 15 March.
Yours sincerely

Dear Department for Transport,
I would like an internal review of Department for Transport's handling of my FOI request 'HS2 jobs'.
Firstly, in your delayed response you claim that I was sent a reply on 13th March, which just never happened. You claim you do not have access to the original request, the entire history of which in full public view here https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/h...
In my original request I specifically requested that you "Please show your working". However you have not done this. How have you determined FTE? Is it purely on hours? If so, how many hours do you consider FTE to be? Did this data just relate to January? Etc, etc, etc.
I should also mention that HS2 Ltd had exactly the same FOI, and they responded like you did with numbers for the 31st of January. The problem is came up with different numbers, so explaining how that happened and which one of you is right would be excellent.

I hope that this time you can make sure the reply actually gets to me too.
Yours faithfully,
Joe Rukin

Dear Christopher Curson,
I am truly amazed by the total cluelessness you have just displayed. Wrong response to the wrong person.
Try again.
