InfoMgr, FinDMT, Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council

Dear Mr Cardin,

Thank you for your recent FOI request, submitted under the Freedom of Information Act.

I can confirm that no payments have ever been made, from Wirral Borough Council to Reverend David Chester, other religious locums or the church they represent.

Rev. Chester is the current Mayor's chosen chaplain, he is not on any government payroll, thus voluntarily attending to conduct prayer before meetings, of which are not specifically selected, nor required.

Depending on the faith & beleifs of each elected Mayor, each has the opportunity to allow a member of their chosen faith, accompany him/her to any and/or all events, should they wish to do so.

I trust this information will be of assistance to you.

Yours sincerely,
