How much money has been spent on the whole loan charge debacle

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, HM Treasury should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Her Majesty's Treasury,

Please provide amounts spent on the whole loan charge debacle. This could include anything from the various reviews that have taken place, estimations for the many MP's time, time in the house of Commons for the many debates. It should also include the various ways / time /money spent to defend this controversial policy.

Also the cost of HMRC's time / resource.

Yours faithfully,

Simon Owen

Dear FOI Requests,

Thank you for your response and the recommendation to narrow my request:

- How much has the Treasury spent on it's resources (whether outsourced or in-house) on defending the loan charge; either via internal reviews, reports, letters back to many MP's with their concerns, external reviews?

- The cost of HMRC's time / resource on the loan charge?

Yours sincerely,

Simon Owen
