How much is spent yearly on false alarms

We're waiting for Emily Rebecca Prince to read recent responses and update the status.

Emily Rebecca Prince

Dear Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service,

I’m writing under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act to request the following:

How much is spent yearly on attending false alarms? How many false alarms were there? And who are the top three stations who dealt with the most and how many did they deal with?

I’m aware that there is a timescale covering such requests and look forward to your prompt response.

Yours faithfully,

Emily Prince

Dear Emily

In addition to the time period requested below please also provide
clarification as follows:

“Who are the top three stations who dealt with the most and how many did
they deal with? ” Are you interested in which fire crews attended each
false alarm (there could be crews from more than one station)? Or in the
geographical location of the false alarm?  In addition there are different
types of false alarm.  Do you want all or some of these, if more than one,
do you need differentiating? :

 1. Automated Fire Alerts which come to us automatically when a system
thinks there is a fire but for example dust had got into the detector.
 2. Someone thinks that there is a fire, contacts us in good faith, but
there is no incident for us to deal with.
 3. Someone maliciously contacts us falsely claiming that there is a fire
