FOI, Scottish Sports Council

Good morning

I refer to your FOI below, dated 1 April 2022. Please see sportscotland's
responses to points 1 and 2 of your request below:

1. Please can you let me know how much funding you provide to Scottish
Cycling as an FOI (Freedom of Information request)

In accordance with section 25(3) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland)
Act 2002, this information is otherwise accessible and can be found on our
website. For convenience, please see the following link to our investment
reporting section:

[1]https://sportscotland.org.uk/about-us/in....

2. What proportion/percentage of that is allocated to female
participation/engagement?

sportscotland invest in Scottish Cycling in the investment categories of
Effective Organisation, Development and Performance, further categorised
in each case between staffing and programme investment. The nature of our
investment is that it supports both female and male participation, rather
than being allocated to one or the other. It is therefore not possible to
provide a percentage allocated to female participation.

However, sportscotland sets long-term outcomes in our investment agreement
with Scottish Cycling. Twenty-four long term outcomes are included for the
period 2019 to 2023. Of these, outcomes:

- Four explicitly reference women or females and relate to the role of the
Women's Development Group in governance, female membership levels, girls
and women entries in events, and female mountain biker performances at
international events.
- One explicitly references men or males: relating to male mountain biker
performances at international events.
- Nineteen do not reference gender (e.g. compliance with standards for
child wellbeing and protection, the number of clubs working to an agreed
development framework, and the number of medals won at Commonwealth
Games).

To help us, we would be grateful if you could acknowledge receipt of this
response for our records. If you are not satisfied with our response, you
are entitled to ask us to review our decision. You must make this request
within 40 working days of the date of this response, explaining why you
think we should carry out a review, stating the information request to
which this review relates, and the name and address of the applicant for
correspondence. Review requests should be sent to Head of Finance,
sportscotland, Doges, Templeton on the Green, 62 Templeton Street,
Glasgow, G40 1DA. Further information on our Freedom of Information
procedures can be found on sportscotland’s website under the Freedom of
Information section at the end of the home page. You will receive the
outcome of the Review Request within 20 working days of receipt of your
request for sportscotland to carry out a review.

subsequently have the right to apply to the Scottish Information
Commissioner for a decision either in writing or online. Further details
