I refer to your request of 2 September in which you asked about the number
of staff are employed by HMRC.

On 1 September 2009, 81872 people were employed by HMRC in the equivalent
of 74,430 full time posts.

If you are not happy with this reply you may request a review by writing

within 2 months of the date of this letter. It would assist our review if
you set out which aspects of the reply concern you and why you are
dissatisfied.
