Dear Mr Brown

Thank you for your request for information as noted below, which was
received by Essex County Council on 17 December 2011;

"Please can you advise on the number of reports of blocked footpaths
(public rights of way) that Essex County Council received during the years
2010 and to date this year (2011)".

I can inform you that in the time frame you request, there were 717
recorded reports of 'Obstruction' recorded on our system.  In order for us
to be more accurate with your request we would need further clarification
as to your meaning of "blocked".

You may reuse all or part of his information free of charge in any format
or medium.  You must reuse it accurately and not in a misleading context

Please contact me if you would like further advice or assistance about
your request or your right to access information held by Essex County
Council.

If you are not satisfied with my response to your request, please let me
know.  If I am unable to resolve the issue immediately, I will explain our
