How many referrals were made to CAMHS between the period 1st Nov 2016 to 31st of October 2017? How many of the referrals accepted had a individuals with a diagnosis of Autism?

The request was successful.

Dear South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust,

Could you please tell me how many referrals were made to CAMHS from any possible referrer between the dates 1st Nov 2016 to the 31st October 2017. How many accepted referrals were for individuals who have a diagnosis of Autism. How many declined referrals which were signposted to other services during this period were then referred back to CAMHS during this period or subsequently.

Dear Ms. Carter,

Thank you for your email request dated 11th January 2018. The answers to
question one and two are per our communication to you also on 11^th
January 2018.

In response to your original request for the number of GP referrals for
children who  already have a diagnosis of Autism,  to be assessed for
additional mental  health issues which have been declined by CAMHs over
the last 12 months, I can confirm that using the electronic CYP Referral
Screening Tool (see screenshot below), we have been able to identify that
between 1st November 2016 and 31st October 2017, a total of 2126 referrals
were received and rejected and of these, 26 had the box for “Autism”
ticked on the CYP form.

With respect to question three - How many declined referrals which were
signposted to other services during this period were then referred back to
CAMHS during this period or subsequently -  can you please provide clarity
regarding the cohort of patients you require the information for i.e. is
it all re-referrals that were referred back or is it only the cohort who
were flagged with a diagnosis of Autism?

I shall place this request on hold until we receive the above
clarification.

If I can be of any further assistance in the meantime please don’t
hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

Aled Evans

Dear FOI (RRE) SSSFT,

I think you have not read the questions I posed correctly. I have requested how many referrals in total from any referrer, not just GPs were received between 1/11/2016 and 31st Oct 2017. I am not asking for how many were declined but how many referrals were actually sent to CAMHS between the above period by any possible referrer. I would also like to know how many of the referrals received had a diagnosis of Autsim, again I am not asking for declined referrals just the numbers of referrals out of the total received that had a diagnosis of Autism.
I am also requesting to know out of the 2126 declined referrals in this period how many of those have been referred back to CAMHS, irrespective of whether they have a diagnosis of Autism.

I hope this is clearer for you!
Please note this is not a new request I am simply clarifying that you have not read the request properly, and I expect the deadline for the response to remain the same as the original request.

Yours sincerely,

Juila Carter
