How many Elected Mayors in the Look North Area (North East and Cumbria) have appeared on the programme between May 1st 2016 and May 1st 2021

The request was refused by British Broadcasting Corporation.

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

I am a regular viewer of Look North. I see elected Mayors appearing on the programme regularly. I rarely see the elected Mayor of North Tyneside or the Mayor of the North of the Tyne authority. I seem to see the Mayor of Tees Valley and the Mayor of Middlesbrough regularly. Perhaps my mind is playing tricks. Please provide a ranked list of elected mayor appearances between 1 May 2016 and 1 May 2021. By appearances I mean moving images.

Thank

Yours faithfully,

Robert Lackenby

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of British Broadcasting Corporation's handling of my FOI request 'How many Elected Mayors in the Look North Area (North East and Cumbria) have appeared on the programme between May 1st 2016 and May 1st 2021'.

You are refusing to provide the information on the grounds that the law does not require you to provide it. The law does not stop you from doing so, it is your duty as a publicly funded organisation to justify your editorial decisions. You know fine well you have disproportionately covered the Teesside Mayors, but are not prepared to admit or explain it.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/h...

Yours faithfully,

Rob Lackenby

Dear Rob Lackenby,

The BBC does not offer an internal review when the information requested is not covered by the Act. If you disagree with our decision you can appeal to the Information Commissioner. Contact details are: Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF, tel: 0303 123 1113 or see http://www.ico.org.uk

Please note that should the Information Commissioner’s Office decide that the Act does cover this information, exemptions under the Act might then apply.

Kind regards,
