Dear Fife Council,
I would like to know how many council properties have been sold since the right to buy scheme was abolished in 2016. I would like to know if properties have been sold under what circumstances was this allowed. Do not need specifics like addresses or any personal details just the number and when.

Dear Grant Thomson,

ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2004 – REQUEST FOR
INFORMATION

48704.

I have detailed the information you requested below and trust that it
meets your requirements.

Request:

I would like to know how many council properties have been sold since the
right to buy scheme was abolished in 2016.

I would like to know if properties have been sold and under what
circumstances was this allowed. I do not need specifics like addresses or
any personal details just the number and when.

Response:

We can advise that 2 council houses have been sold since the right to buy
scheme was abolished in 2016:

2019/20 – 1 property
2020/21 – 1 property
Under our duty to provide advice and assistance in terms of Regulation 9,
we can advise that both of the above properties were disposed of on the
open market and not under right to buy process. These properties came into
Housing Service ownership following a rationalisation of tenanted
properties from other services and were identified as being unsuitable for
mainstream tenants due to their location.
